Why do you only have one haircut price?
I charge the same price for long and short hair because regardless of the length, the process is the same. We are creating a shape with all of the hair on your head. My price is determined by my experience and skill.
Do you do men's hair?
Yes! I do everyone's hair.
Do you cut children's hair?
Yes, but only if they are old enough to sit with proper posture. I charge the same prices for kids as I do adults, so if your child isn’t quite ready for that, there are several salons throughout the city that specialize in children’s hair and charge accordingly.
What is balayage and why is it so expensive?
In its most simple terms, balayage is a sweeping technique used to lighten hair. The ends of your hair are more heavily saturated with lightener and the remaining product is swept toward the root in varying degrees of saturation depending on the desired look. The results are usually softer and the look lasts longer than traditional highlights, because there is no regrowth line. This technique requires more skill, time and attention to detail, and the cost is set accordingly. The good news is, a good balayage does not need to be touched up very often, which actually makes it more economical.
What is a colour correction?
A project can be classified as a colour correction for a number of reasons (i.e. fixing a previous colour that was obviously done poorly), but generally it's when you have previously coloured hair and want to go globally lighter. The results of doing this are unpredictable and time-consuming, and generally require a significantly larger amount of product. Therefore charging based on the time it takes makes the most sense.
What is "custom colour"?
Custom colour basically means multiple major colour services in one appointment (i.e. all-over colour + highlights, or all-over colour + balayage).
What retexturizing treatment do you offer?
I use the Cezanne smoothing treatment for anyone desiring smoother, frizz-free, easier to manage hair. Cezanne is 100% formaldehyde-free, as well as free of sulfates, parabens, phthalates and gluten. It is appropriate for both straight and textured hair.
What colour line do you use?
I use a number of colour lines including Kevin Murphy, Wella, Joico and Redken. I will always use the most appropriate product to achieve your desired outcome.
Do you sell gift cards?
Yes, you can purchase gift cards online here.
How do I know what service to book?
If you're a new (or existing) client, and still unsure of what you want or need, I encourage you to email me and/or request a free consultation. I will do my best to answer your questions via email, but often I can provide the most accurate price quote/advice upon seeing your hair and its condition.
